| Solar Source Institute received Licensure by the Florida Department of Education |

On July 27, 2009, the FL Dept. of Education’s Commission for Independent Education (CIE) voted unanimously to approve Solar Source Institute as the State’s first stand-alone solar renewable training school.
“This is a big deal for us…” boasts Rick Gilbert, President of SSI.
“…being recognized by the Dept. of Education is a huge event for the
entire renewable energy industry in Florida. Solar Source having
licensure as a legitimate school sends the message to contractors the
'solar buzz' is for real.” The CIE is the oversight committee of the Dept. of Education that handles most vocational technical and trades schools. Candidates must undergo a strenuous process for licensure, assuring prospective students that have met the highest educational standards possible according to Florida law. It’s the primary credential for a school to enroll students within the State. Rick says, “This recognition puts Solar Source Institute at the top of the list for solar training facilities. You’re not supposed to advertise or even call your institution a school without it.” Solar Source Institute was founded in 2007 by Wayne Wallace, owner of the parent company Solar Source, the largest solar contracting and Distribution Company in Florida for over 25 years. “We are pleased the State Commission recognized our efforts in training and retooling Florida’s contractors. Solar technology is experiencing tremendous growth, and will eventually create more jobs than any other industry in recent times.” |
