Approval Required First: Homeowners must apply and be approved to be a part of the program before any work can be completed. No rebates will be provided for work completed before they have received their notice of approval. Funds availability: Visit: http://www.dwellgreen.com/GESDashboard/ for weekly updates on how much money has been allocated in each jurisdiction. Homeowners are encouraged to participate and to continue to check the website for rebate updates. Audit Rebate amount increase: In order to encourage more people to complete the more in depth energy efficiency improvements that require a comprehensive home energy audit, the rebate amount available has been increased for the audit from $500 to $750 max. The $750 audit rebate maximum amount is now reflected (is being applied retroactively). The audit itself is incredibly valuable and provides homeowners with a quantified path for energy improvements in their homes for years to come. An explanation of the audit and its benefits to the Frequently Asked Questions section of the website. Low Income Audit Exemption: Low Income Audit Exemption details and changes are now updated. Audit Priority vs. Non-Priority Items: The comprehensive home energy audit will provide a list of recommendations and will highlight “priority” items that are the greatest energy saving opportunities and that once completed may have an impact on the specifications for other improvements. One of those “Priority Recommendations” must be completed in order to receive the full rebate amount on any other item. If one Priority Recommendation is not completed then the max rebate amount for non-priority items is half the normal maximum amount (this is only true for the rebate categories that require an audit - see http://www.scgov.net/retrofit/Rebate.asp).
