The awarding of the Green Label is done by members of the Ministry of the Environment, the Standards Institute, Green organizations, and other Industry and Consumer organizations. The members scrutinize every request according to the specific criteria laid out in assessing and approving Green Products. It is awarded to a product or service that has proven itself to have a positive influence on the environment when compared to other similar products or services.
The Standards Institute established strict guidelines in Standard #1738 for the examining of products which have a positive impact on the environment - green products.
