Wayne Wallace, President of Solar Source, Licensed Solar Contractor/Designer Wayne received a B.S. Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering Technology from the Jordan Energy Institute in Michigan. Wayne has vast knowledge and experience with all aspects of the solar industry from installations to marketing. Wayne received his solar PV grid connection certification in 1999 from the Florida Solar Energy Center. In addition we have Ron Phillips, Director of Training & Sylvain Mandel, Solar Consultant/Distribution Manager. S.S.U. is a participant in the U.S. Department of Energy, Solar America Board of Codes and Standards (Solar ABC’s) Solar ABC’s was created to support the development of codes & standards that facilitate the installation of high quality, safe photovoltaic systems. One of Solar Source’s greatest assets is our knowledgeable and dedicated staff. We are able to offer a vast range of knowledge from administration through production to installation that enables us to effectively follow every job to successful completion. Our combined professional experience is second to none. Some of our key staff members and their positions are; Wayne Wallace, President In 1984 Wayne received a B.S. Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering Technology from the Jordan Energy Institute in Michigan. From 83’ to 88’, Wayne was the Market Director for United Marketing Associates, Inc. As an extremely driven self-starter, he launched Constructive Resource in 84’. The new same Solar Source was added in’92 as a division. Wayne is the president and is familiar with all aspects of the business from installations to marketing. He has personally installed over two hundred solar domestic hot water systems, twenty PV systems, and over four hundred solar pool heaters. Wayne received his solar PV grid connection certification in 99’ from the FSEC and he is a member of FSPA and FlaSEAI. In 96’ Solar Source was awarded a grant which was aimed at reducing swimming pool energy costs (RSPEC). Wayne has also been involved in solar projects in Michigan, Atlanta, Key West, and the Cayman Islands. Bob Sass, General Manager Bob is the general manager of Solar Source. He graduated from Columbia Technical Institute studying aircraft drafting. He has acquired 8 years of maintenance supervisory experience prior to being hired on at Solar Source as the GM. Bob’s duties are to supervise all installation involvements, to order all materials and supplies needed to oversee the vehicle fleet, to act as liaison with contractors and sales, and to provide quality control functions. He is an important part of our team. Ron Phillips - Director of Training & President of Solar Unlimited Network, Inc. (SUNI) SUNI is a business development and consultancy specializing in solar electric systems. Mr. Phillips has consulted for projects such as Photovoltaic Carport Installations, Solar Powered Vending Machines for Bus Stops, and billboard lighting. Other projects include the distribution of solar powered compactors to parks and cities. Mr. Phillips has also worked in the construction industry in California on freeways, housing tracts, industrial complexes, parks, and golf courses. He holds certifications in photovoltaic design and installation from Solar Energy International and Florida Solar Energy Center. Mr. Phillips is a stakeholder for The Center for Resource Solutions that sets the standard for Green-e Greenhouse Gas Product Certification. This advisory group is composed of environmental organizations, government agencies, and businesses. Ron is an advocate for the development of renewable energy technology with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. His comments are posted on the Florida DEP website for the Climate Change Workshops. He is also an active member of Stakeholder Meetings with the U.S. Department of Energy - Solar America Initiative (SAI). The goal of SAI is to reduce the cost of photovoltaic technology so that they become cost-competitive by 2015. Ron is extremely skilled at networking with a wide range of people and the development of new concepts. As Director of Training he is a valued member of the S.S.U. staff. David DeSilva, Production Manager David De Silva attended Syracuse University for 1 year and Monroe Community college for 2 years majoring in electronic technology. For 15 years after that he worked in property management, technical maintenance, and scheduling work loads for large apartment complexes and condominiums. He began working for Solar Source in 1996 as our Production coordinator. He oversees all techs and does the scheduling. He is also the one we send on difficult repairs and does a lot of the electrical configuring at Solar Source. He works on PV jobs and has extensive electrical and solar knowledge. David is known for his problem solving and is a great addition to Solar Source. Gary Rex, Solar Consultant Gary has a B.S. degree in Physics and Mathematics. After college he joined the DuPont Company as an Engineer and progressed through the Senior Research Engineer position before moving into engineering management and later into sales/marketing. In sales he became the Area Manager in Florida for DuPont’s high tech. Medical Products Department. After taking an early retirement from DuPont, Gary began a 12 year career as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of a software company selling systems nationally into the medical marketplace. In 2007 he joined Solar Source, where his expertise in engineering, sales and marketing is a valuable asset toward growing new projects. Rachel W. Doll, Marketing Director Rachel has worked at Solar Source for almost 17 years and does just about everything. She has been the marketing director for the past 10 years. She started as a part time telemarketer, moved to office work doing the payroll, taxes, taking service orders and helping on every level. The majority of her job is devoted to overseeing the sales staff and taking care of the marketing. Prior to Solar Source, she managed Wakeley Electric, Inc. for 8 years right out of high school and has a vast knowledge of the construction industry. She is a valuable team player and will continue to work on all projects at any level needed. Colleen C. Clark, Photovoltaic Wholesale Director/Solar Consultant Colleen is a college graduate from Canada. She began working with Solar Source in 1997 developing wholesale and referral solar business within the swimming pool trade (pool builders, service, retail including pinch-a-penny’s) within a six county Florida area. Colleen went onto working for UMA (Master Distributor of Heliocol/Sunstar) solar and got promoted to Director of Sales. This is where she developed dealers in wholesale swimming pool solar and solar hot water for North America and the Caribbean. Colleen did some independent work for Solar Source throughout 2008 then came on board full-time developing photovoltaic (solar electricity) business. She is also consulting and instrumental with Solar Source University where she will eventually be instructing. During her years in solar pool heating she was on the board of directors and state chair/creator of the Consumer Awareness Committee and original creator of the Safety Committee for the FSPA (Florida Swimming Pool Association formerly NSPI). She has a true passion for solar and has been on the news a few times promoting solar from her home which is equipped with solar pool heating, solar hot water and a solar attic fan. Brian Baker, PV Project Manager Brian is a 3rd generation industrial electrician, licensed since 1989. He has worked with PV Grid-Tied Systems since 1998. Born in Upstate New York, he is familiar with high DC voltage projects common in saw mills in the Adirondack Mountains. Brian has successfully run an electrical company for 17 years, and recently reunited with Wayne Wallace, eager to tackle large commercial photovoltaic projects in Florida. Brian’s vast knowledge of electricity in the construction industry makes him an invaluable asset as Project Manager for the 1MW installation Solar Source will do at the Orange County Convention Center, the biggest PV project in the state. Brian is responsible to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our PV projects, including planning, on-site execution and personnel, and drafting of the electrical engineering. He is also involved in commercial sales quotes, consultation services to our dealer network, and teaching at Solar Source University seminars. Solar Source is happy to have Brian’s talents to round out our professional PV Staff. |
